This site will host the Des Moines Renaissance Faire, as well as other events. This will be the first permanent renaissance festival site in the state of Iowa, and let us join the other permanent sites in Kansas, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Information on this project may be found at: http://www.dmrenfaire.com For those interested in being part of this event (volunteers, paid staff), an informational meeting is being held in Des Moines on December 10th, and again on December 11th. These meetings are for those who wish to work at this event. Open auditions will be held in January, February and March for performers. Here is the information on the Informational Meetings: The Des Moines Renaissance Faire is holding it's first Informational Meetings on Saturday and Sunday, December 10th & 11th from 2:00 - 3:30 PM. The meetings are being held at Sleepy Hollow Sports Park, 4051 Dean Ave. in Des Moines, Iowa. These gatherings will provide interested individuals with solid facts about the paid and volunteer positions that will be available for the three weekend festival, opening in September 2006. Performer, Management and Staff positions will all need to be filled. These first meetings are being held in advance of formal auditions and interviews, which will begin taking place in January, 2006. Some of the street performers we are looking for are listed below, more information will be available soon on the website.
